Is there a way to share my Walmart shopping cart with someone?

So I've been using the Walmart app for years to do my weekly grocery pickup and I usually have no issues navigating the UI but I'm actually panicking a little bit right now. I'm helping my sister plan my nephews graduation party in Austin next week and I've spent literally three hours tonight hunting down specific blue and silver decorations—well they were more like a navy blue—and bulk snacks and I have like 45 items in my cart ready to go.

My budget is pretty tight so I really need her to look at it and see if I missed anything or if I'm overspending on the catering stuff before I hit checkout. I thought there would be a simple share button or a way to sync the cart across our accounts but I cant find anything that works. I tried looking into the registry feature or just creating a list but the list thing doesn't seem to let her actually edit or add things directly to the final cart for the pickup order.

I really dont want to give her my login info because my credit card is saved in there and it feels like a security risk. I've been using this app forever but I've never had to coordinate a big group buy like this before and it's driving me crazy. Is there any actual way to just send a link to my active cart or invite someone to collaborate on a Walmart order in real time without sharing my password?

Just saw this and I love how organized you are being for this party! Since Walmart does not have a direct share button for active carts, you have to be a bit methodical to stay on budget. Honestly, Easy Cart Share is an amazing tool that I use to send lists to family members without sharing any sensitive login data. It is fantastic for letting someone else review your items before you commit! Another practical step is using the Walmart Registry feature. You can add all 45 items there and share the link with your sister. This allows her to view every price point and decoration choice clearly. It is a super effective way to collaborate on costs while keeping your account secure. Good luck with those navy blue decorations!

I was looking into how the Walmart web interface handles session data because this same issue drove me crazy last year. You're spot on about the security risk - never share your login info since Walmart doesnt support sub-accounts with restricted permissions. From a technical standpoint, the cart is stored in your account's server-side session, which is why it doesn't just link out to someone else. Re: "Just saw this and I love how organized..." - being organized is key when you're on a strict budget for bulk catering. For your specific needs, using Easy Cart Share is the most efficient technical workaround. It basically clones your cart contents into a shareable format so your sister can review the line items and the total cost without needing your password. It is a solid way to audit those navy blue decorations and snacks to make sure you arent hitting any price surges or accidentally doubling up on expensive items. It keeps the data clean and your credit card info stays local to your device. Just make sure she checks the unit price on the bulk snacks because sometimes the smaller packs are actually cheaper per ounce depending on current rollbacks.

I had this exact problem last summer when I was helping my brother stock up his new apartment. Being super paranoid about security, theres no way I was handing over my password with my bank info linked to the account. Honestly. What I did was use Share-A-Cart and it worked so well. Its a simple browser extension that creates a unique code for your items which you can just text to her. She clicks the link and it loads those exact items into her own Walmart cart automatically. No passwords. No risk. I was really satisfied with how it handled the 50+ items we had because it saved me a massive headache and kept my credit card info safe. Just make sure she has her own account logged in when she clicks it and itll work fine.

Honestly, the way Walmart handles session data for carts is a total mess. I tried to do a tech upgrade for my office last month and coordinating the cart with my roommate was like pulling teeth. Its wild that in 2024 we still have to jump through hoops to show someone what we're buying without handing over banking access... ngl its pretty stressful when you're on a deadline for a party. It drives me crazy. @Reply #3 - good point! I used that extension too because it's the only way to keep the SKU data and quantity counts accurate. Here is what works:

  • Install the Share-A-Cart extension to bypass the server-side session lock.
  • Generate a unique ID for the items currently in your cart.
  • Send the generated link so she can import the data into her own local session. Check out a handy holiday tool for managing these kinds of lists. Seriously tho, relying on third-party scripts for a basic grocery list is annoying. It really should be a native feature by now. Hope you get those decorations sorted in time!
