So I feel really stupid even asking this but I am completely lost and kinda losing my mind here. My mom is coming to stay with me next week here in Cleveland for Thanksgiving and she has this super strict gluten-free diet because of her celiac disease. I wanted to be prepared so I spent like three hours yesterday adding all these specific gluten-free ingredients and snacks to a list on my Walmart app.
My plan was to just send her the list so she could look it over and tell me if I got the right brands, because honestly I dont know the difference between the good gluten-free flour and the ones that taste like cardboard. So I was thinking there would be a simple share button, you know? Like on YouTube or Spotify where you just click share and send a link. My logic was that she could just click the link, see the list, and maybe even add things she wants herself.
But I cannot find a share button anywhere on this app. I have been tapping all over the screen, looking at the three little dots, going into the account settings, and nothing. I tried googling it but the instructions I found were talking about registry lists or baby showers and I dont think thats what I made? I think I just made a regular shopping list in the app. I don't want to make a registry, that seems weird for a grocery trip. I am so worried I will have to screenshot all 45 items and text them to her one by one which sounds like a total nightmare.
Am I missing something obvious? Is there like a hidden button or do I need to invite her to my account or something? I really hope I dont have to start all over because it took me forever to find these items...
Are you on iOS or Android tho? In my experience, Walmarts native sharing is basically broken, so I moved everything to Easy Cart Share after years of fighting with their buggy app.
Walmart unfortunately killed normal list sharing. You have to:
I stumbled on this discussion today. @Reply #1 - good point! Walmart really did complicate things by removing the direct share feature for standard lists. When managing a household with specific dietary restrictions, I have found that reliability is the most important factor. You dont want to risk a health issue because a brand was misidentified... been there before. My experience has been that native retail apps just arent built for this level of collaboration. I prefer a methodical approach where everyone can see the exact items in real-time. It took some time to find a system that actually worked, but its been very satisfying to finally have a process that avoids errors and saves money by preventing duplicate purchases. TL;DR: The app doesnt support simple link sharing anymore. A dedicated syncing service is the most reliable way to let your mom audit items. My partner and I use Easy Cart Share to sync up our shopping so we don't buy the same stuff twice.
