Is there a legit way to share my Walmart shopping cart with my sister so she can pay for my groceries this week? I'm currently stuck at home with a broken ankle and a super tight budget of maybe $120 for the next two weeks of meals so I really cant afford to mess this up. My sister offered to cover my grocery run while I'm laid up but she lives in a different city and just wants to pay online for a pickup at my local store here in Columbus.
I am torn between two ways to do this but neither seems great. Option A is just giving her my login info so she can checkout, but I've got my own card saved in there and it feels kinda sketchy to share passwords even if she is family. Option B is using that Share this cart button I saw, but does that actually let her pay or does it just show her a list of what I picked? I also thought about just sending her a screenshot of everything and having her manually search for all 30 items but that sounds like a total nightmare for her and shes already doing me a massive favor by paying. Which way is actually gonna work for her to pay with her card?...
> Option A is just giving her my login info so she can checkout, but I've got my own card saved in there and it feels kinda sketchy Building on the earlier suggestion, I actually have to disagree about avoiding the login sharing. I have been very satisfied with a simpler workaround that keeps things secure. If you are worried about your card info, just go into your account settings and delete your saved payment methods before giving her the password. I do this with my family and honestly have no complaints. It works well because once your card is gone, there is zero risk to you, and she can just pop her card info in at the final screen. The reason this is better than her using her own account is that you have a very specific $120 budget. If she searches for items herself, she might pick a different brand or size that costs a few bucks more, and that adds up fast over 30 items. By using your cart, the total stays exactly where you need it. Just make sure she checks the Columbus store location one last time before hitting pay. Since you are stuck with that ankle injury, have her add your name as the pickup person in the order details, or just do delivery if you cant drive. It saves her the nightmare of manual searching and keeps your financial info private. Done it dozens of times and it is super reliable. Basically keeps everyone happy without the 2FA headache or the list-sharing mess.
That share button is basically just a glorified list. I tried using it when helping my cousin with a tight $100 budget and it just sent a link... she had to add everything manually anyway. Best bet is her logging into her own account, setting your Columbus store as her location, and buying it for pickup under your name. Keeps your password safe and ensures the budget stays on track.
^ This! Also, digital gift cards are amazing! I used them last month. Sharing logins triggers annoying 2FA errors, while gift cards avoid all the checkout hassle. Best technical workaround for budgets! Love it!
