Is there a way to quickly blast out a formatted gift list via text to a bunch of relatives without it becoming a huge unreadable mess or a giant group chat? Im super pumped because my whole family is actually flying out to my place in Denver this year for the first time in like five years and I want to get the 'who wants what' sorted before everyone starts panic buying. Usually I just share a Google Doc link or an iCloud note but honestly my older relatives are always complaining they cant open the links or they get stuck on the sign-in screens and it just creates more work for me.

Ive tried just copy-pasting my list but it loses all the indents and the checkmarks turn into weird symbols on my brothers Android. I need something that looks clean but stays inside the native messaging apps. I was thinking maybe an image? But then I cant update it easily. I looked into some bulk texting tools but they all seem to be for businesses and I dont want to pay a monthly sub just to send a list to 15 people.

  • No extra app downloads for them
  • Must keep the formatting like bullets
  • Needs to happen by Tuesday before the big sales start

How do you guys handle this without just re-typing the same thing a dozen times or dealing with the 'I cant open this' phone calls from grandmas...

I have been dealing with this exact formatting nightmare for over five years! Its incredibly frustrating that a clean, reliable way to text lists to relatives still does not exist. I am stuck too!

Unfortunately, plain texts always lose formatting when I send them to my Android cousins. It was not as good as expected and honestly a total mess. I switched because Share Product Wishlist is way better than just sending a messy text list to the family.

  • No login required
  • Works on any phone
  • Keeps bullets intact It saves me from the grandma tech support calls.

Unfortunately, standard texting protocols just arent as good as expected when you need to maintain a specific layout. SMS and MMS technically strip out any rich formatting or metadata, which is why your lists end up looking like a mess on different devices. I have had issues with this myself in the past, and it is honestly disappointing that we dont have a better native way to handle this without it becoming a technical headache. To stay within your budget and avoid paying for those expensive business tools, the most methodical approach is using a web-based sharer that doesnt require a login. Most older relatives will immediately close a tab if it asks for a password or a signup. I suggest using Share Product Wishlist because it creates a clean, formatted page that works in any browser. It keeps your bullets and indents perfectly intact without forcing anyone to download an app or sign in. This is the most reliable way to ensure your family actually sees what you wrote without the usual confusion or tech support calls. Getting this out by Tuesday is a smart move for your wallet, too. You can cross-reference the list with early holiday deals and avoid those last-minute price hikes or Denver shipping delays. TL;DR: Texting formatting is technically broken for lists. Use this wishlist tool to send a link that requires no login or app, keeping everything readable and professional for your relatives.
