I am so confused right now. My partner and I are trying to furnish our new apartment in Chicago before we move in next month and we keep sending each other links to individual items on Amazon and Wayfair and it is driving me absolutely insane. I feel like there has to be a better way to handle this, right? I keep taking screenshots and texting them but half the time the links break or the price changes and we lose track of what we decided on.

My logic was that surely someone must have made a browser plugin by now where you can just dump things into one shared list so we can see what we are both picking out for the living room without the constant back and forth. Im not super techy so sorry if this is a really dumb question, but I have no idea where to start looking.

  • needs to work on multiple sites
  • shouldnt be too expensive because we are on a super tight budget
  • needs to be simple because im not great with computers

Ive tried googling this but I just end up with a million ads for shopping apps I really dont want to download. Does anyone know if there is actually an easy tool for this or am I just gonna be stuck with my messy text threads forever...

Honestly, the browser extension route is usually more trouble than its worth. I gave up on those ages ago because they always crash right when you need them. If you want something that actually works and costs zero dollars, I personally have been using a shared note system instead. It keeps everything way more organized and saves me from those broken link headaches.

  • Do you guys primarily look for stuff on your laptops, or is this all happening on your phones?
  • Are you open to using a really simple shared note app like Google Keep or even just a shared document?
  • Is tracking the price drops the main thing you need, or is just having the pictures in one spot enough? If I know how you guys browse, I can suggest a way that wont bug out on you. Those extension ads are definitely a trap!

Sticking to text threads is honestly a nightmare. I tried a few of those shared cart extensions a while back, but honestly, they were all super buggy. Unfortunately, most of them struggle to sync correctly between different browsers and sites like Wayfair or Amazon. It was just a waste of time. Instead, Ive been using a couple of simple, free tools that actually hold up without the tech headache:

  • Notion: You can just make a master list page. It keeps everything clean, updates in real time, and you can add notes about the price or specific dimensions.
  • Google Keep: Super easy to just dump links into a shared note. Its not fancy, but it gets the job done without any complicated setup. Save your money and skip those browser plugins. Theyre usually bloated and honestly not worth the stress when you are already moving.

Oh my god, I feel your pain. My partner and I have been dealing with the same mess for months, and we are just exhausted from constant link-swapping. Its driving me insane.

  • Are you guys both on the same brand of phone?
  • Do you look at items mostly on mobile? I keep searching for things like share walmart cart but nothing covers everything. It is honestly so frustrating not having a real fix for this yet.
