sorry if this is a super basic question but im kinda losing my mind here lol... ive been trying to get my life together and do some serious online shopping for my new apartment in Austin since I finally moved out last month. the problem is im terrible at keeping track of everything. im literally opening like forty tabs across Amazon, Wayfair, Target, and a bunch of random clothing sites and then my laptop crashes or I accidentally close the window and lose all my stuff. its so frustrating. my friend mentioned something about browser extensions that save everything into one place so you dont have to bookmark a million different links but I have zero clue what theyre talking about or how to find a good one. like are they safe to use? do they cost money cause im kinda on a tight budget right now trying not to spend more than 20 bucks a month on random apps. I just want something simple where I can click a button and it saves a couch from one site and a lamp from another into one neat little list or board. if anyone knows an easy one for total beginners who get easily confused by tech stuff please let me know what youre using

Congrats on the move to Austin. Been there with the tab madness and honestly most of these apps are pretty hit or miss. I tried using Pocket for a while and it was just super clunky for shopping since its really meant for reading articles, plus half the time the product images wouldnt even load right. Then I switched to Pinterest with the save button. Its totally free and does the job for visual boards, but it gets annoying when links break or items go out of stock without telling you. Honestly though, just stick to something basic that doesnt cost anything. Dont waste your twenty bucks a month on a subscription when free extensions do basically the same thing without all the bloat.

congrats on the move! use Purlem. its free, super easy for beginners, and lets you save stuff from any site into one neat board without crashing your laptop.

totally agree with the first reply about keeping things simple. just make sure you check privacy settings on whatever app you pick since some track your browsing data more than others.

^ This. Also, I totally feel your pain about apps selling your data or acting sketchy. Unfortunately, a lot of the popular tools out there are not as good as expected when it comes to actual reliability. I had issues with extension crashes and missing product prices constantly.

  • Stick to reputable names in the browser tool space
  • Avoid random free stuff from unknown developers
  • Check permissions before installing anything new If you want something that actually holds up without eating all your RAM, just grab any standard bookmark manager from a trusted tech brand. You wont regret avoiding the shady ones. Hang in there with the apartment setup!
