Tbh I’ve been through like four OLEDs since the early days and the specs on paper rarely tell the whole story of what it's like living with them for years. I'm still not 100% sure if the 2025 lineup finally solved some of the nagging long-term quirks I’ve dealt with in the past, but I've noticed a few things over time: - OS speed usually starts to chug after about 18 months
- Panel uniformity can sometimes shift slightly after heavy usage
- Remote buttons on some brands wear out wayyy faster than others I mean, the peak brightness is cool and all, but I’m basically more curious about how these panels hold up after 5,000+ hours. Someone told me the heatsinks on this year's high-end models are supposed to be way beefier to prevent image retention, but I’m still waiting to see some real torture tests before I fully believe the hype lol. It’s always a bit of a gamble until they’ve been in living rooms for a year or so.
