Saw this earlier but just getting back to the keyboard now. Honestly, I have tried just about every brand over the years, and if you really care about motion, Sony is still the king. I remember back when I got my first OLED and the stutter on slow pans during hockey games drove me absolutely nuts until I figured out the processing settings. In my experience, you should look at these specific things:

• Hit up RTINGS for their technical motion tests. Their flicker and response time charts are the only thing I trust before buying.
• Sony A80L 65 Inch BRAVIA XR OLED is what I usually recommend for sports. Their XR Motion Clarity tech handles the upscaling and motion without making everything look fake.
• If you really want to splurge, the Sony A95L 65 Inch QD-OLED has the best color volume for bright jerseys while keeping that motion crisp.
• Check your settings for Black Frame Insertion (BFI), tho it dims the screen, it makes the motion look way more like an old-school plasma. Tbh, LG has caught up a lot, but Sonys processing just feels more natural when there is a lot of fast movement across the screen. Just my two cents after staring at these things for a decade...

I honestly feel you on this, and it is such a massive headache. I have the exact same issue and have been dealing with these motion artifacts during games for over a year now. Every time I think I found a setup that works, I end up disappointed because it just isnt as smooth as everyone claims.
