I just got this iPad for my classes and honestly I am so stressed out looking at the prices for the official apple stuff like how is a pencil over a hundred dollars?? I have like thirty dollars left in my budget for this month after buying my books for school and I really need to start taking notes by next Monday or I am going to fall behind so fast. I went to the store but the guy there was talking about pressure sensitivity and tilt and generation 1 vs 2 and I literally felt my brain melting because I dont know what any of that means. I just want to write on the screen without it lagging or skipping. I saw some on amazon that are cheap but then the reviews say they dont work with all models and now im scared to buy the wrong thing and waste my money. Do I need a special bluetooth thing or do they all just work? I live in a pretty small town so I have to order online and cant really go try them out anywhere. Is there like one specific brand that definitely works on every single iPad model without being super expensive? I dont want to break my screen or anything either... which one should I actually buy?

I once bought a cheap unbranded pen and it actually scratched my screen because the tip was too hard. For your budget, I would suggest the Baseus Stylus Pen for iPad instead. Its safer for your glass and you dont need bluetooth. Just be careful tho... these only work if your iPad is from 2018 or later. If yours is older, it wont sync at all.

Honestly, dont stress. I have used a bunch of these and you really just need palm rejection for class. Be careful tho, most cheap pens only work on iPads made after 2018. Make sure to check your model number first. I would suggest:

  • ESR Digital Stylus Pen with Palm Rejection
  • Jamjake Stylus Pen for iPad 2018-2023 These are usually under $25 and work great without lag.
