Honestly I am about five minutes away from just throwing my hands up and buying whatever is top rated on Amazon because this motherboard search is actually making me lose my mind. I am trying to put together a build around the Ryzen 7 7800X3D before the end of the month so I can actually play games on my week off but every time I think I found the right board I find a hundred people complaining about it. My logic was that a B650 should be plenty because I dont plan on overclocking much but man the reviews are all over the place.

I spent like four hours reading about the Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX because it fits my $230 budget perfectly and the specs look great but then I see all these threads about crazy coil whine and the BIOS being a nightmare to navigate. Then I looked at the MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk which everyone says is the "safe" pick but apparently the boot times are still like 40 seconds even with the latest updates? Like its 2024 I dont want to sit there staring at a black screen every time I turn my PC on. I am in the US and there is a Micro Center about an hour away so I could go there but I dont want to drive all that way just for the guy at the counter to upsell me on some $500 X670E board that I dont actually need for just gaming and maybe some light streaming.

Does the motherboard even matter that much for the 7800X3D specifically since it's so efficient? I keep seeing people say just get the cheapest one with good VRMs but then other people say the cheap ones have terrible audio chips or bad wifi. I just want something stable that wont crash when I enable EXPO for my 6000mhz ram. My budget is strictly under $300 for the board and I really want to avoid those long boot times if possible. Is there actually a board that works out of the box without needing a PhD in troubleshooting or am I just chasing a unicorn here...
