I'm trying to pick a board for this 14900K build for my editing studio in Brooklyn and honestly I'm just getting more annoyed the more I read. My logic was to go with the ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero because everyone says it's the gold standard but then I saw a bunch of threads about coil whine and weird BIOS bugs with the latest Intel microcode updates. So then I was thinking maybe the Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Xtreme? But that thing is massive and I heard the software is a total nightmare to deal with. I have about 800 bucks set aside for just the board and I need to buy it by Wednesday but I cant tell if I'm paying for actual quality or just flashy RGB lights at this point. What is actually stable for these chips...
I'm obsessed with the ASRock Z790 Taichi E-ATX DDR5 right now! It's super stable for the 14900K and looks amazing. Honestly, it's just a fantastic high-end choice!

Had those exact coil whine issues with the Hero and it was pretty distracting during recording. Tried Gigabyte too but the software is as messy as people say. The MSI has been rock solid with my 14900K. No drama. It just works.
Yep, this is the way
