im stressing out way too much over this build lol. need to pick a board for my 7800x3d before micro center closes this weekend bc i cant take staring at empty boxes on my desk anymore. right now im torn between the msi mag b650 tomahawk and the gigabyte b650 aorus elite ax. my budget is strict, trying to keep the whole thing around 200 bucks max since ram and the cpu already hurt my wallet. my logic was to go with msi bc my last gpu was msi and it never died on me, but then someone on reddit said gigabyte has better boot times? idk im overthinking it so hard. which one is actually less of a headache to set up...

Regarding what #2 said about stop stressing over reddit comments, they're spot on. Over the years Ive built tons of rigs and people obsess way too much over minor boot time differences. Grab the ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS WIFI if you wanna save a few bucks and still get solid VRMs. Just flash the latest BIOS right away and youre golden.

> right now im torn between the msi mag b650 tomahawk and the gigabyte b650 aorus elite ax Honestly id grab the MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI and just be done with it. That reddit post about boot times is making a mountain out of a molehill tbh. Just update the bios right away. Both are solid under two hundred bucks, but msi software has always treated me better. Good luck with the build!

Stop stressing over reddit comments man, seriously. I was in the exact same spot two months ago with empty boxes mocking me from the corner of my room. Ended up grabbing the MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI AM5 ATX Motherboard and honestly? Zero regrets. Boot times are totally fine once you update the BIOS, which takes like five minutes anyway using the flashback button on the rear I/O.

  • Flash the newest BIOS before installing anything else
  • Enable EXPO in the bios for your RAM speed
  • Dont install MSI Center bloatware, trust me on that one My buddy went with the Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX AM5 ATX Motherboard and his setup works fine too, but the MSI board just felt way easier to build on. The layout makes sense, headers are right where you want them, and the VRMs handle the 7800X3D easily without breaking a sweat. Just pick one and go build your pc already so you can stop staring at those boxes lol.
