I'm planning to build a new PC and I've decided to go with the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor. I'm looking for the best motherboard to pair with this CPU that will allow me to get the most out of it. My budget is around $300-400 for the motherboard.
If you have any experience with motherboards that pair well with the Ryzen 7 7700X or have heard good things about specific models, please share your recommendations. I'd also appreciate any insights on the features I should prioritize when making my decision.
For $300 to $400, I think the best choice is ASUS ROG Strix X670E-A Gaming WiFi Motherboard, currently $369 at Amazon https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-X670E-Motherboard-Cooling/dp/B0BDV6RR2K/
I think the ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming WiFi motherboard is a good choice for your CPU.

Man, I totally get that obsession with finding the perfect board! When I first jumped onto the AM5 platform with my 7700X, I went way down the rabbit hole of technical specs. I ended up snagging a high-end board in that exact price range because I was terrified of VRM throttling during long gaming marathons. What I learned was honestly amazing... it wasnt just about the power delivery, but the actual PCB quality. My current setup has an 8-layer PCB and the signal integrity for my memory has been rock solid since day one! I remember spending a whole weekend tweaking timings and being blown away by how stable everything stayed. If you're spending that kind of cash, definitely look at the heat pipe designs around the power phases. The one I got has these massive chunky sinks that stay cool to the touch even when I am pushing high voltages. It makes such a difference for long term peace of mind, ngl. Love seeing people actually invest in a solid foundation for their build!
A B650 motherboard is enough for 7700X.
The MSI MPG X670E Carbon WiFi is a solid choice. It offers a good balance of features and performance. It has good power delivery, PCIe 5.0 support, and plenty of M.2 slots for storage expansion.
I'm running the ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-Plus WiFi with my 7700X. It's a no-frills board that focuses on the essentials - good power delivery, reliable BIOS, solid build quality. The VRM thermals are excellent even under heavy loads. My only complaint is the somewhat limited USB ports compared to pricier boards, but it hasn't been an issue in practice.
ASUS ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming WiFi (~$350): https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-Motherboard-Q-Release-Q-Latch/dp/B0BDTHQTJV?------123456890?7649-20
You don't need a motherboard for $300 for 7700X, just get a B650 motherboard.
