Looking for recommendations on the best motherboard for my i9-13900K build. Budget is flexible, but I want something that can handle the CPU's power demands and heavy overclocking. Main priorities are stable VRMs, good power delivery, and PCIe 5.0 support. Will be using DDR5 RAM and need at least two M.2 slots. Any suggestions between the ROG Maximus Z790, MSI MEG Z790 ACE, or other high-end boards?

I’d suggest going with the MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WiFi II. It’s a great balance between performance and price. It has solid power delivery, DDR5 support, and plenty of connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4. I’ve been using it with my 13900K, and it’s been rock-solid for both gaming and productivity tasks.

> Any suggestions between the ROG Maximus Z790, MSI MEG Z790 ACE, or other high-end boards? To add to the point above, so far folks have pointed you toward the MSI Carbon for a balanced build and the Dark Hero for that premium Asus feel. Tbh I've been super happy with the Gigabyte Z790 AORUS MASTER X lately. I used it for a workstation build last month and was satisfied with how it handled the 13900K under sustained load. Those 105A power stages are overkill in a good way, and the finned VRM heatsinks actually do work, unlike the solid blocks of metal on some other boards. If you want high-end specs without the massive price jump, the ASRock Z790 Taichi Lite is honestly a sleeper hit. It has the same beefy power delivery as the standard Taichi but cuts the flashy plastic bits. I've had no complaints with it running heavy overclocks. Basically, if you dont need the ROG branding, these two are beastly alternatives that wont let you down.

Any Z790 motherboards are OK.
