I'm planning to build a new PC with an Intel Core i9-13900K and need advice on choosing the right motherboard. I’m looking for options that support DDR5, have built-in Wi-Fi, and ideally allow for overclocking. I’ve seen options like the Gigabyte B760, Asus Prime Z690-P, and MSI Pro Z790-P. Which one would you recommend for performance and value? Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

Great Motherboard.

ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi - Great value at around $220, solid power delivery, and good VRM cooling.

Stumbled upon this discussion and honestly I've seen too many people focus on just the 'features' while ignoring the ACTUAL physical constraints and power integrity. When I was setting up my 13900K I went with the [[ASRock Z790 Taichi]] specifically because the VRM thermal design is absolute OVERKILL which is what you want for a chip that pulls 250W+ like it's nothing. But man the fitment issues are real... I basically spent three hours just making sure the massive heatsinks didn't collide with my top-mounted radiator and honestly it was a tight squeeze. You really have to look at the MOSFET ratings and the PCB layer count too because at these high DDR5 frequencies signal integrity is everything and if the traces aren't isolated properly youre gonna see random BSODs even if the parts 'should' work together. Better to over-spec the board than have it thermal throttle your expensive CPU because the VRMs are cooking stuff in the case.

Ugh, honestly I am in the exact same boat as you and it is driving me crazy. I have been staring at my 13900K box for two weeks now because I just cannot decide on a motherboard that wont give me compatibility headaches or thermal throttling issues. Every time I think I found a good one, I read another horror story about DDR5 stability or the BIOS being a mess, and it just makes me want to give up on the whole build. It is so frustrating that there is no clear winner that just works without needing a degree in electrical engineering to figure out if it will actually handle the power draw...

The MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WiFi II hits the sweet spot between price and performance for the 13900K. The 19+1+1 power phase design handles that power-hungry CPU without breaking a sweat, even with heavy overclocking. I appreciate the practical features - robust rear I/O, good internal fan headers placement, and the troubleshooting LEDs have saved me multiple times. Running stable at around $399, much better value than the $600+ flagship boards with minimal real-world performance difference.

The MSI Pro Z790-P WiFi or Asus Prime Z790-P WiFi are good options providing DDR5, Wi-Fi, and OC capability, offering better power delivery for the 13900K.

The Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX has been flawlessly running my 13900K for 6 months. Direct 16+1+2 phase VRM design with 105A power stages is plenty for stock and moderate overclocking. DDR5 runs stable at 6600MHz in my setup.

I'm using an MSI PRO Z790-A WiFi with my 13900K and it handles everything perfectly fine.
