what oled monitor is the best one to get for my rtx 4090? i feel kind of dumb asking because i just spent way too much on this new pc from a shop here in austin and i have no clue how to pick a screen that actually fits it. i heard oled is the best for colors but there are so many options from lg and dell and i dont really understand if i need 4k or if 1440p is better.

my budget is around $1100 and i just want games to look really good without any weird blurring. i dont want to accidentally buy something that bottlenecks the computer since i saved up for months for this...

Caught this thread a bit late but hope it helps. Tbh, pairing a 4090 with anything less than 4K feels like buying a Ferrari and only driving it in second gear. I went through a similar phase where I tried to save money on a 1440p screen, but the lack of crispness was obvious once I finally jumped to 4K. At your $1100 limit, you can definitely avoid a bottleneck. Here are the technical routes I would consider for that budget:

  • Dell Alienware AW3225QF 32-inch 4K QD-OLED 240Hz is usually the best value for QD-OLED tech right now and fits your price range.
  • LG UltraGear 32GS95UE-B 32-inch 4K OLED 240Hz is a solid alternative if you prefer matte screens, though it might push the budget depending on the sale. Basically, stick to 32 inch 4K. Anything smaller or lower res wont do that GPU justice... just my two cents after wastefully upgrading twice.

To add to the point above: honestly, you really dont want to settle for 1440p when you have that beast of a card. I was in the same boat last year, thinking maybe I could save a few hundred bucks and just get a high-refresh QHD panel... but man, once I saw 4K OLED in person, there was no going back. I ended up grabbing the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE-B 32-inch 4K OLED after seeing a buddy play Cyberpunk on it and I've been so happy with the choice. It works well for everything from gaming to movies with no complaints at all. The way the blacks just disappear into the room at night is wild. I was worried about it being too big for my desk, but at 32 inches, it is basically the sweet spot for 4K. The reason everyone says go 4K for the 4090 is because that card is designed to push heavy pixels. If you run 1440p, you are basically letting the GPU sit idle while your CPU struggles to keep up. It is like having a supercar but only driving it through a school zone. My experience with the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED 32-inch 4K was also really positive when I helped my brother set his up; it fits right in your $1100 budget and the colors are just insane. No weird blurring at all because OLED response times are basically instant. You wont regret going 4K... it makes every dollar you spent on that Austin shop build feel worth it.
