Im so stoked to finally upgrade my setup for my PS5. My old monitor is looking super crusty and I really wanna see those 4K textures pop before I start my next playthrough of Forbidden West. Ive been looking at the Gigabyte M28U and the LG 27GP950. My budget is around 600 bucks tops and I need something that fits on my smaller desk in my NYC apartment by next weekend. The LG looks amazing but im worried the fan noise is gonna drive me nuts. Is the Gigabyte basically just as good for the price or am I gonna regret saving the extra cash? Anyone using these on a console right now?

Adding my two cents, honestly stay away from the LG. I had issues with that fan whine constantly, it was super annoying. If you want a better value that fits your NYC desk, look into these instead:

  • Acer Nitro XV282K KVbmiipruzx 28-inch 4K 144Hz - usually cheaper and looks clean
  • Dell G3223Q 32-inch 4K 144Hz - if you can squeeze the extra size, the image quality is way better than the Gigabyte imo

Honestly, grab the Gigabyte M28U 28-inch 4K 144Hz and dont look back! Ive been using it for my console setup and the colors are just fantastic. Since you have a small desk, that built-in KVM switch is a total life saver too. Skip the LG if you hate fan noise, seriously. Youll love how sharp the textures look for Forbidden West!

Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.
