Looking for the best gaming monitor under $600! Any recommendations? Aiming for 1440p, but open to suggestions.
Tbh I totally agree with the point about looking at the overall experience rather than just hunting for the lowest price tag. I had a bit of a nightmare when I got my current screen because I totally ignored the physical fitment part of the equation. I was so focused on getting a high refresh 1440p panel that I didnt realize how deep the base was. Ended up having to buy a whole new monitor arm because the stock stand took up like half my desk space and I had no room for my mousepad - it was a mess. Another thing to watch for is the actual cable compatibility stuff. I mean... I thought any old cable would work but I actually had to go out and buy a specific certified cord because the one I had was causing flickering at the higher resolutions. Plus, make sure ur desk can actually support the weight if you have one of those thinner desks. Basically, just double check that ur physical workspace and ur current GPU ports can actually handle the tech you are buying or you will end up spending another hundred bucks on extras like I did.
Just wanted to say thanks for everyone chiming in. Super helpful discussion.
Consider used monitors! I snagged a great ASUS 1440p for half the price. Worth checking!
Tried Gigabyte M27Q. Disappointing backlight bleed, unfortunately. Look at Rtings.com for detailed measurements before buying.
1440p under $600 is tough. Unfortunately, my experience with Gigabyte M27Q wasn't as good as expected. Consider a VA panel for better contrast, even if response times are *slightly* slower.
Hey! Beyond specs, consider eye strain. My BenQ monitor (around $450) has blue light filters. Happy with it, no headaches. Safer gaming is better gaming!
Samsung's been dropping prices lately. Check their curved 1440p, solid value for the money. Happy so far.
DIY monitor overclocking *can* save money, but proceed with caution. I'm happy with my ASUS, no complaints.
