The RTX 5080 gpus are still too expensive these days. Where can I find discounts or deals on it? When do you think will be a price drop on RTX 5080 GPUs?

tbh you gotta be careful with some of these deals. if you see brands like Gigabyte or MSI priced way lower than Asus, there is usually a catch. Gigabyte cards usually hit the sales first but i've heard some messy things about their rma process lately. Asus stays expensive because of the branding, basically just a name tax. some things to watch out for:

  • check the power connectors on cheaper models
  • watch for third-party scalpers on retail sites inflating original prices
  • make sure the card actually fits your case before buying a 'deal' personally i'd keep an eye on the mid-tier manufacturers. they aren't as flashy but they're usually solid workhorses without the extra markup. just gotta make sure you dont sacrifice cooling just to save fifty bucks tho...

Honestly, if youre looking for actual savings right now, I would suggest looking at open-box units at retailers like Micro Center or Best Buy instead of just waiting for a big sale event. These are often just customer returns with nothing wrong. Be careful though. Check the packaging contents before leaving the store.

  • Look at the Newegg Refurbished section for cards that are certified by the manufacturer.
  • Keep an eye on the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 5080 Trinity OC as they usually hit lower price points sooner than the premium brands.
  • Try searching for bundles that include a high-wattage PSU, which can save you a hundred bucks if you need a power upgrade anyway. Make sure to verify the warranty terms specifically for open-box items tho. Some retailers might only give you 90 days instead of the full three years. That is risky. With something as expensive as the MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16GB Ventus 3X OC, you really want that long-term reliability just in case...
