Im losing my mind trying to pick a new card for my rig. I play mostly single player games and some competitive shooters at 1440p and my old 1070 is just struggling so hard lately. I have exactly 500 bucks to spend and I need to pull the trigger by next weekend since I have a week off work.
I have been doing way too much research and its making it worse. I keep reading that the RX 7800 XT is the king for pure rasterization but then I see people complaining about driver issues and power draw. Then I look at the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB but everyone says the memory bus is garbage for the price? Like, I just want to play Cyberpunk and maybe the new Dragon Age without my frames dipping into the teens. Why is this so complicated? Everyone on Reddit acts like if you dont spend a grand you are basically playing on a potato, but I dont have that kind of money. Is the 4070 even worth finding used? I dont know what to trust anymore at this price point. Which one of these cards is actually gonna hold up for the next few years without me having to upgrade again immediately?
Honestly, grab the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB GDDR6 for pure performance! Forget the 4060 Ti. Youll crush Cyberpunk with the extra VRAM. It is honestly such a beast for 1440p.
