Honestly im just so fed up with my current rig. I spent a small fortune on an Intel build a couple years back and the stability issues have been driving me absolutely insane lately. Every time I try to launch something demanding like Cyberpunk 2077 or the new COD it just crashes to desktop or throttles so hard the frame rate becomes a slideshow. Its embarrassing. Im living in Chicago and I have about 600 or 700 bucks set aside for a platform overhaul before the end of the month because I just cant look at this setup anymore without getting a headache.
I keep seeing people talk about the X3D chips and honestly I just want something that actually works out of the box without me having to fiddle with bios settings or voltage offsets for six hours a day just to get a stable experience. I dont care about productivity or editing, I just want to play my games at 1440p without stuttering. Is the 7800X3D still the king for this stuff or has something else come out that I should be looking at instead? I keep reading conflicting reports about the newer stuff being overkill or just not worth the price jump.
Im really leaning towards making the jump to team red because I just cant deal with this crashing nonsense anymore. If I grab a 7800X3D and a solid B650 board am I going to be set for the next few years, or is there a reason to wait for something else? I dont really want to wait until the end of the year if I dont have to, honestly I just want to rip this intel chip out and toss it in the trash at this point... what should I actually buy?
Honestly, I feel your pain. I went through the exact same nightmare with my old intel rig crashing constantly. Switched over to the latest AM5 tech a while back and it has been rock solid. In my experience, these chips are just built differently for gaming. I basically just plugged it in, enabled the memory profile, and never touched it again. It just works, which is exactly what you need right now.
