So I am finally trying to build my first gaming PC because my old laptop just cant handle anything new anymore and it is driving me crazy. My budget is pretty tight, maybe around 150-200 bucks for just the processor, and I really want to stick with AMD since a buddy told me they are better value right now. But honestly, looking at all the numbers and letters like Ryzen 5 5600 or 7600 is just super confusing for me. I dont even know if I need something fancy or if the cheaper stuff is fine for playing games like Valorant or maybe some Cyberpunk if it even runs on a budget machine. I am hoping to get this parts list finished by next week so I can order everything while stuff is on sale. Do you guys think I should grab an older chip to save cash or is it worth stretching the budget for a newer one? What is the best AMD CPU I should look for that wont break the bank but still lets me play without constant lagging...
