Ugh, birthdays are seriously stressing me out this year. My daughter turns six next month and we live in a tiny apartment in Chicago, so we really cant afford to have a house full of random plastic junk we dont need. I tried using Elfster because someone on a parenting blog swore by it, but the interface is just so corporate and not really kid-friendly at all, plus the ads are super annoying. I also looked at Giftster, but honestly, it feels like overkill for a six-year-old and none of my family members want to create an account just to see a list. I just want something simple where I can drop a link, maybe add a photo of the toy, and let grandma and my cousins check off what they bought so we dont end up with four of the same Lego set. Is there actually a decent app for this that doesnt require everyone to sign their life away or try to sell my data? Im honestly so close to just making a shared Google Doc but that feels kind of tacky...
Oh man, I totally get the apartment struggle! We used GiftHero for my son's party last year and it was honestly a lifesaver. It is super clean, no annoying ads, and the best part is people can check stuff off without needing a full account. You can just text them a link and be done with it. It made our lives so much easier, you should seriously check it out!
