My wife and I are trying to get our grocery shopping done for the week but we both have our own Walmart accounts. We have a set budget of 150 bucks and it is so annoying trying to coordinate what we need because we keep forgetting to tell each other things. Im kinda new to using the app and I feel like a total idiot asking this but is there any way to actually share a cart between two accounts? Like can I send her what I added or do we have to just share one login or something? Im really confused by how this works...

Honestly, I have been there too. My partner and I struggled with the exact same thing for months until we realized that Walmart simply does not support shared carts or household accounts. The backend architecture just isn't built for multi-user cart synchronization right now. It is definitely a bit frustrating since they have such advanced inventory management systems, but for the consumer side, it stays strictly isolated to your individual sign-in credentials. We tried a few workarounds before settling on our current flow:

  • Sharing a single login is the easiest way but it logs one person out if you both try to shop at once, which is annoying.
  • We keep a running list on our phones and just have one person do the final checkout to keep the budget tracking simple.
  • If you really want to keep things synced, check out this Walmart cart tool because it makes tracking shared lists so much smoother without needing to pass passwords back and forth. Basically, dont feel like an idiot for asking. It is a super common pain point for regular shoppers. Sharing a password technically works, but the session conflict makes it feel like you are fighting against the app, which is why we stopped doing that. Once we started using that external tool, our grocery runs got way more efficient and I have been totally satisfied with the result.

To add to the point above: we just keep a manual list. It works well and keeps us on budget.

  • Check simple cart sharer
  • Use shared notes Really keeps things simple.

To add to the point above: honestly, sharing one login is the only way to avoid a headache. It sucks, but it works. We just use a shared password manager or some random notes app to keep track of the total budget.

  • Use a shared email for one account
  • Track spending in a separate app
  • Just stick to generic brands from Walmart, they are actually pretty solid tho.
