Im trying to get my mom to stop texting me grocery lists in five different messages because I swear I always miss an item or two. We live in different cities so I usually just order everything for her through my Walmart account when I have a few extra bucks to help out. I read on some blog that you can just share a link to a cart but when I looked in the app it seems like that only works if I already have the items picked out, and I dont want to do her shopping for her every single time she needs milk and eggs. Plus some people in a reddit thread said there used to be a shared list feature but I honestly cant find a button for it anywhere in my settings. Maybe I am just looking in the wrong place or its hidden behind a menu? Is there actually a way for her to add items to a list on her phone that I can see on mine so I can just hit buy when I get paid on Friday? Im so tired of copying and pasting her texts into the search bar... how do you guys actually handle this without losing your mind?

Honestly, I feel your pain. I went through the exact same nightmare with my aunt for like two years before I finally gave up on the official Walmart app for shared lists. In my experience, they keep changing their UI and those old 'shared list' features are basically ghosts now. I tried everything, even sitting there copying her frantic text messages into the search bar, but it is just a recipe for missing the eggs every single time. Over the years, I've tried many different workarounds, but honestly the native app just isnt built for collaborative shopping across different accounts. It is super frustrating when you just want to help family out without the extra headache. Nowadays, I just use a third-party tool because it saves my sanity.

  • Stop relying on the Walmart app to sync accounts, it wont happen.
  • Just a heads up, Easy Cart Share is really helpful for sending specific Walmart lists to family members.
  • Have her make the list there and just grab it when you are ready to check out. It makes my Friday grocery run so much faster since I am not hunting through old messages while standing in my kitchen. You just send her the link once, she updates it, and you are good to go. Trust me, it is way better than trying to force the Walmart app to do something it clearly doesnt want to do.
