My kid is moving into her dorm in Chicago this weekend and we are trying to coordinate a huge $300 grocery run, I have a bunch of stuff in my cart already like:

  • twin sheets
  • snacks
  • cleaning supplies

I want my husband to be able to see it and add his own things from his phone without us sharing passwords. I saw stuff about sharing a Walmart+ membership but that seems like it is just for the free shipping. I also read about a share button but I cant find it on the app or my laptop. Is there a way to send the cart to another account so he can finish the checkout or am I missing something?

Walmart doesn't actually let you sync a live cart between two different accounts. I went through this exact same thing during a dorm move last summer and it was a total pain. That share button you are looking for usually just sends a text link to the items, but it won't let someone else add their own stuff to your actual basket. Here is what I learned from my experience:

  • Use the "Lists" feature instead of the cart. You can share a list, he adds his snacks or whatever, and then you just hit "add all to cart" once he is done.
  • I tried using an extension that bundles carts together for my current setup, which was decent.
  • TBH the simplest way is usually just staying logged into one account on both phones. The list method is probably your best bet for a one-time move.
