im honestly so stressed out right now because my sister is recovering from surgery in Chicago and she really needs some specific groceries delivered to her apartment ASAP. i spent like an hour carefully picking out the exact brands she likes on the Walmart site, and now that my cart is finally ready, i cant for the life of me figure out how to just send the whole thing to her address so she can check out. its super frustrating because i dont want to just send her money and hope she finds the right items, especially since shes barely able to get around her place let alone browse online. is there seriously no share cart button? ive looked everywhere on the app and on the desktop site and im just losing my mind here.

  • needs to be delivered to an address in Chicago
  • budget is around 100 dollars
  • timeline is for tomorrow morning
  • must include specific brands so she doesnt get the wrong stuff

if walmart doesnt let me do this, is there another service that actually works for this kind of thing? i just need this done quickly without making her do the heavy lifting...

Just catching up on this thread. In my experience, Walmart lacks a shareable cart API for security reasons. Before I detail the best workarounds using browser automation or proxy accounts, are you logged into her account, or are you strictly using your own? That distinction changes how we handle the checkout flow significantly. For speed, Instacart typically handles shared carts better, if you're open to switching services.

Honestly, I feel your pain. I went through the exact same headache a few years back when my cousin had her surgery. I tried for an hour to find a share button on Walmart too, but it just doesnt exist. In my experience, these big sites are super locked down for security, so you really cant just ping a cart over. What I ended up doing was logging directly into her account from my laptop. It saved me so much stress because I could manage the payment and delivery window myself without her lifting a finger. If you cant get her login, you might have to just bite the bullet and use a different service like Instacart where you can just change the delivery address to her place on your own profile. It gets the job done.

Honestly, Walmart makes this way harder than it needs to be. There isnt a native button to just pass your cart over, which is super annoying when you are trying to help out family. I dealt with this last month for my cousin and honestly, the easiest way to handle it is just logging into your account from your sister's computer or phone if you have her password, or just paying for it yourself and changing the delivery address at checkout. Here is how I usually get it done:

  • Just finish the order yourself on your computer.
  • Change the delivery address to her Chicago location during the checkout screen.
  • Select the delivery slot for tomorrow morning.
  • Make sure to toggle the option that says this is a gift so the driver knows to leave it at the door. It works well every time and you dont have to worry about her getting the wrong brands. By the way, Easy Cart Share works great if you're trying to coordinate a big group order on Walmart later on, but for a single delivery like this, just paying directly is honestly faster. It saves you the headache of explaining how to navigate the site to someone who is already stressed and recovering. Just keep the budget under that 100 mark and you should be golden.
