How do I actually share my Walmart shopping cart with friends? I'm torn between using that Share-A-Cart browser extension or just sending everyone individual links to the items. We're splitting a $200 grocery run for our Austin apartment and need to order by tonight so we don't run out of snacks, is the extension better or too glitchy...

Stumbled on this while looking for something else... honestly, sharing Walmart carts is way more of a headache than it should be. I tried doing a big group order for a bachelor party last year and it was super frustrating. Unfortunately, Walmart keeps updating their backend, so simple links just dont work for a full basket. I eventually had to use a walmart cart share extension to get it to work, but even then, it had some quirks. A few things to watch out for:

  • Make sure everyone is using the same zip code for the Austin store so the prices match.
  • Sometimes the cart expires if you wait too long between sharing and checking out.
  • Double check the quantities after you import because sometimes it defaults to 1. Really wish they would just build this in natively. Its kinda ridiculous we have to jump through hoops just to buy some chips and salsa together. Good luck with the apartment run.

Honestly, dont just send individual links. Its a total nightmare to track and someone always forgets a specific item. Plus, sharing login info is a massive security risk, so definitely avoid that. I've tried many different tools over the years and most extensions are just way too glitchy or ask for scary permissions. You really have to be careful about what you install on your browser these days. For Walmart runs, Easy Cart Share is the most reliable tool I've used so far. It is way more stable than the alternatives. My biggest warning is to watch out for extensions that track your whole browsing history. You just want something that moves the items. If you stick to sending links manually, you'll just end up with mistakes in the final total. Keep it simple and safe.
