I need help fast because my sisters and I are heading to a beach house in Destin this Friday and I'm the one stuck doing the big grocery haul. We have like a $450 budget for the week but everyone is being so picky about what they want for breakfast and snacks. I've been sitting here for two hours adding stuff to the Walmart app but I cant for the life of me figure out how to just send the cart to my sisters so they can look it over before I hit buy.

I did some googling and saw people saying to use the Registry feature but that feels super weird for just buying eggs and bread plus I dont want them to think its a gift list lol. I also saw some random chrome extension that claims to share carts but I'm doing all this on my iPhone while I'm at work and dont really trust some third party app with my login info anyway. I'm worried about:

  • missing someones specific brand of milk
  • double buying things we already have
  • going over the budget because I cant see their edits

Is there seriously no share cart button in the actual app? I'm getting really stressed because if I buy the wrong coffee or forget someone's specific yogurt it's gonna be a disaster all weekend. Does anyone know a way to just send the whole list to someone else so they can add stuff or at least see it without me having to take twenty screenshots?...

I've been doing these big group grocery hauls for years and honestly, I'm very satisfied with how I've streamlined the process lately. It's definitely stressful when you're managing a strict budget like your 450 dollar limit while trying to keep everyone happy with their specific brands of milk or yogurt. While the app dont have a single button to just flip your cart over to someone else, I've found a methodical workflow that works well every single time. Instead of using the live cart right away, you should utilize the Lists feature. I've been using this for all my family vacations and have no complaints about the accuracy it provides. Here is how I usually handle it:

  • Open the app and go to your account then select Lists.
  • Create a new list specifically for your Destin trip.
  • Add every item they requested to this list instead of the checkout cart.
  • Use the share icon to send them the link via text message. This allows them to see exactly what you picked out without you having to take a million screenshots. If you want something even more efficient for syncing everything up, I usually suggest using a simple cart sharer to bridge the gap between your list and the final checkout process. It really helps avoid the double buying issue you mentioned. I'm always happy when we finally get to the house and everyone actually has the stuff they wanted... makes the weekend way smoother.
