Okay so my roommate and I just moved into our first apartment in Austin last week and we are already stressing about money. Groceries are so expensive and neither of us has a car right now so we have to get everything delivered. We were looking at Walmart+ because it seems cheaper than Instacart but the yearly fee is still kinda high for just one person to pay alone. I was thinking maybe we could just buy one membership and split the cost 50/50 but I have no idea if that is even allowed or how it works.
Like can we both log into the same account on our phones? Or will they ban us if they see two different credit cards being used on one account? I really dont want to get locked out or get in trouble. We want to keep our orders separate so we know who bought what, but share the free delivery benefit. Sorry if this is a really dumb question but I am completely new to all this subscription stuff and I am super anxious about messing it up and losing money. Can we actually share one account or do we have to buy two?
My former roommate and I tried sharing a Walmart+ login last year and it got super messy with mixed-up payments. You can log in on two devices, but be careful because Walmart might flag your account for using multiple cards. To stay safe, make sure to:

To add to the point above: this whole situation really takes me back to when my cousin moved into this drafty attic apartment in Chicago about five years ago. He and his roommate thought they could save a bundle by sharing a massive bulk-order subscription for literally everything from paper towels to dish soap. It turned into a total saga.
Regarding what #2 said about "Re: "My former roommate and I tried sharing..." - it really is a massive headache. My roommate and I tried to do this exact thing last semester to save some cash, but unfortunately it was not as good as expected. We had so many issues with the verification codes. I think he had to text me the code like three times a week just so I could order some groceries. Not sure if they still do it, but someone told me Walmart flags accounts that switch between different names on cards too. We ended up cancelling. If you want to save money, maybe look into Kroger delivery instead? IIRC their pass is cheaper sometimes, or just have one person order everything and split it on Splitwise.
