honestly im so done with these cheap glass protectors that keep shattering if i so much as look at them wrong. I just bought a new iPad Pro 12.9 for my freelance illustration work and the glare is driving me crazy but every matte protector i try makes the screen look all grainy and weird like static. Its so frustrating because i just want to draw without seeing my own reflection or dealing with a fuzzy screen.
Plus I spent like twenty minutes trying to get the bubbles out of the last one and it still looks like a total mess near the edges. Im currently in Seattle and the lighting in my studio is just awful for reflections so i really need something that actually works. I have about 40 bucks to spend and i need to get this sorted before i head out for a gallery show next Thursday so timeline is tight. I keep hearing about Paperlike but then some people say it wears down the pencil nibs way too fast and honestly i cant afford to keep buying new tips every month. Does anyone have a recommendation for a screen protector that actually stays on, doesnt ruin the display quality, and maybe feels okay for drawing? Like what is actually the best one out there regardless of the model...
Honestly, I went through a phase where I spent way too much on premium matte films and they were all such a letdown. I had issues with the graininess on my 12.9 screen which basically ruined the retina resolution. Unfortunately, even the expensive ones I tried had a weird prism effect that made my digital paintings look noisy. I eventually gave up on the pro brands and found that going budget actually saved my sanity and my wallet.
