Looking for a portable monitor for my iPad Pro. What are the best options under $300, and what's the display quality like?

Honestly, if youre rocking an iPad Pro, you gotta be careful about display quality because that Liquid Retina screen sets the bar pretty high. A standard 1080p IPS panel is gonna look kinda grainy next to it. I’d highly recommend looking at the Innocn 13.3" OLED Portable Monitor or their 15.6-inch equivalent. You can usually find them for $200-$250 on sale. Since it's OLED, you're getting a 100,000:1 contrast ratio and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, which basically means the blacks are actually black, not that muddy grey you see on cheap LCDs. Technical tip: make sure whatever you buy supports USB-C Power Delivery (PD) pass-through. The iPad Pro can technically power a monitor via the USB-C Alt Mode, but it drains the battery like crazy. If the monitor has a second USB-C port for power, you can plug your charger into the monitor, and it'll juice up the iPad while sending the video signal. Just make sure the monitor supports at least 15-20W PD output to actually keep the iPad charged during heavy use.

If you want something really portable, the ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC is perfect for carrying your iPad Pro setup everywhere - 15.6-inch IPS display with full HD resolution, weighing only 780 grams. It also has a touch screen, and you can enjoy the touch feature even on the second screen which is pretty cool. The build quality is solid and it comes with a cover that works as a stand.
