so Im trying to build my first ever PC and Im completely lost when it comes to the power supply part. sorry if this is a dumb question but theres just so many options out there and my brain hurts. im building this mainly for gaming with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and an RTX 4070 Super that I managed to save up for over the summer. im in the US and hoping to keep the PSU under like 130 bucks if thats even realistic. i keep reading stuff about ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 and wattage calculators telling me different things like some say 650W is fine and others say I need 850W minimum or the whole thing will blow up lol. i just want something reliable that wont fry my expensive parts since this is all my savings. what actually is the best PSU for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D setup like mine?

Congrats on saving up for those parts! Don't stress too much about the wattage calculators, 750W is plenty for your setup. Since you want total peace of mind for your hardware without blowing the budget, I would suggest grabbing the Corsair RM750e 750W ATX 3.0. It usually sits right around your budget and gives you that native 12VHPWR cable so you dont need sketchy adapters for your 4070 Super. Definitely worth the investment for safety.
