Im so hyped to finally build my first gaming rig next month! I keep seeing people swear by the B650 Tomahawk but then others say X670 is needed for future proofing... Im on a 200 buck budget and kinda lost. Is it really worth spending more for the extra lanes or should I just save the cash for a better GPU?

Honestly, skip the X670 tax. You really dont need those extra lanes for a standard gaming build. I put my 7800X3D in a MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX Motherboard and have been super satisfied. It handles the chip perfectly and saves you plenty of cash for a better GPU.
- Solid power delivery
- Plenty of M.2 slots
- BIOS updates are a breeze Save the money and grab a better card, you wont regret it.

Honestly, spend that extra cash on a better card! I wasted money on extra lanes I never even touch. Just watch out for:
- Bad VRM thermals
- Cheap, flimsy heatsinks
- Limited fan headers
