According to latest rumors, RTX 5070 will be released along with RTX 5090 and 5080 in early 2025.

Caught this thread a bit late but i gotta chime in! I live for these spec leaks. Usually NVIDIA likes to stagger things, so while the 5090 might drop in Jan at CES, we might be looking at March or even April for the 5070 if they follow the old 30-series patterns. I remember being so torn when the last gen launched, but i ended up sticking with my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6 for way longer than i expected because it just held up so well. If you are looking to save some cash, here is how i see the options:

  • The 5070: Pros are the new Blackwell architecture and likely huge jump in efficiency. Cons is the wait and potential early adopter price hikes.
  • ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 Super 12GB GDDR6X: Pros is price to performance is peak right now. Cons is the 12GB VRAM might feel a bit tight for 4K in a few years.
  • MSI Gaming X Slim GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB GDDR6X: Pros is that sweet 16GB VRAM buffer. Cons is it is still a lot of money to drop right before the new cards hit. Ngl i am super hyped for the rumored memory bandwidth increase... that alone makes waiting worth it imo!

Honestly, im pretty satisfied waiting until late Q1 for the 5070. The power efficiency and memory bandwidth rumors look great, so itll be a reliable beast for the price. Price-to-performance data shows that waiting usually saves you a ton of cash on these mid-range chips.

  • look at ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Super Twin Edge 12GB for better value once the 5000 series lands
  • check the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB for reliability on a budget Lately ive been looking at airflow data because my case was getting a bit toasty. Ended up buying a pack of Arctic P12 PWM PST 120mm fans and honestly the thermal stability is amazing for the price. No complaints at all. Anyway, but yeah.
