Acer's latest foray into the handheld gaming market, the Nitro Blaze 7 (GN771), is poised to make waves with its impressive specifications and compact design. This 7-inch powerhouse is driven by the AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, a strategic choice that sets it apart from competitors. While not employing the cutting-edge Phoenix-based architecture with Zen5 and RDNA3.5 graphics, the Blaze 7 opts for the robust combination of Zen4 cores paired with RDNA3 graphics.

The Nitro Blaze 7 boasts 8 Zen4 cores and Radeon 780M graphics, ensuring smooth performance and stunning visuals. With 16GB of high-speed LPDDR5X-7500 memory and the potential for up to 2TB of NVMe SSD storage in a full 2280 form factor, this device promises ample space and speed for even the most demanding games. The crown jewel of the Blaze 7 is its 1080p IPS display, featuring a 144 Hz refresh rate and support for AMD FreeSync Premium, guaranteeing fluid, tear-free gameplay.

Acer's decision to use the HS variant of the Phoenix processor potentially offers a higher power target, suggesting enhanced performance capabilities. This compact gaming marvel aims to deliver an uncompromising gaming experience, bringing high-end PC gaming to the palm of your hand.

So how much is it do you think ? And the release date ?

Checking in a bit late on this but honestly i would be careful with the initial launch pricing. I remember picking up a first-gen handheld last year and the battery life was basically non-existent because the processor was just too thirsty for the tiny chassis. My experience taught me to always look at the cooling setup first. The Acer Nitro Blaze 7 GN771 using that HS chip might run pretty hot if the fan curve isnt perfect right out of the box.

  • Make sure to wait for independent thermal benchmarks before putting money down.
  • Double check if that 144Hz screen has a variable refresh rate that actually works at lower wattages. Tbh im guessing we'll see it around 750 or 800 dollars closer to the holidays. Just dont rush into it until we see how it handles the heat.

I hope the price will be lower than ROG Ally X.
