i am so stressed out trying to pick a processor for this 4k video editing build im doing. i keep seeing all these numbers like 13900k or 14700k and i literally have no idea what they even mean or what the difference is. i was thinking bigger numbers are always better but then i saw a video saying some get too hot and now im just scared of breaking something. my budget for the cpu is like 500 dollars and i need to get this pc running for a wedding project in two weeks. im in chicago and the shops nearby keep telling me different things. is the i9 actually worth it or am i just throwing money away?? i just dont want my screen to lag anymore...

  • I picked the Intel Core i7-14700K 20-Core 5.6GHz to save money.
  • Works well and hasnt crashed once, which makes me very happy after my old PC always lagged.

I was in the same boat last month. Ended up grabbing the Intel Core i7-13700K 16-Core 5.4GHz and im very satisfied. It handles 4K timelines like a champ without the massive heat spikes you get with the i9...

  • Enable Intel QuickSync in your editor
  • Use a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE No complaints here. Saved some money and the renders are fast.
