Ugh I am so done with this old laptop literally freezing every time I open more than three chrome tabs it is driving me insane. I have a new remote gig starting in two weeks and need a reliable home office desktop that wont lag during screen shares.
I was looking at AMD because my logic was that I could save money and still get good multitasking. I was thinking maybe the Ryzen 5 5600G since it has integrated graphics and my budget is strictly under $150 for the chip but now im just confused. Is the G version actually worth it for just office work or is there something better?...

To add to the point above: unfortunately the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 6-Core 12-Thread Processor with Radeon Graphics price isnt as low as I hoped. I had issues with the loud stock fan too.
- AMD Ryzen 5 4600G 6-Core 12-Thread Processor with Radeon Graphics: cheaper and handles chrome just as well.
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 8-Core 16-Thread Processor with Radeon Graphics: better multitasking but pushes the budget. Just get the 4600G and spend the savings on more RAM... youll need it.

Ngl you are totally on the right track with that logic. I put that chip in my wifes office build last year and honestly it has been rock solid. its such a relief not having to buy a separate gpu... my bank account definitely thanked me. It handles zoom calls and chrome tabs no problem, plus it stays really quiet during meetings too. youll be pretty satisfied with it for sure.
