Im finally building my first rig after saving for like six months and Im stuck on the CPU part. Ive got maybe $130 max for this and I saw online that the Ryzen 5 5600 is basically the gold standard for budget builds right now but then I saw the 5500 is like $40 cheaper. Some guys on Reddit say the 5500 is a waste of money because of the cache size and it doesnt support pcie 4.0 but honestly Im just playing stuff like Valorant and maybe some older Steam games so do I really need the extra power? I need to buy this by Friday so I can build over the weekend. Whats the actual move here for someone on a super tight budget who just wants to play at 1080p?

I learned the hard way with a buddys build that cutting corners on the cache is risky. We tried to save cash and the stuttering in Valorant was just brutal... honestly you should be careful with the lower tier stuff.
