I'm looking for recommendations on the best CPU cooler for my Intel i7 12700K. I don't plan to overclock right now, but I want something that can handle high loads efficiently and quietly. Would an air cooler be sufficient, or should I consider an AIO liquid cooler instead?

^ This. Also, sticking with air cooling is a smart move for a 12700K if you arent pushing for world-record overclocks. Honestly, you dont need to spend a fortune to get top-tier thermal performance these days. The Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE is probably the best value on the market right now. It consistently punches way above its weight class and keeps up with coolers twice its price. If you want something that looks a bit more refined, the DeepCool AK620 is another excellent choice that stays very quiet under load. Both will handle high workloads without breaking a sweat. AIOs are nice for aesthetics, but a solid air cooler is usually more reliable long-term since there's no pump to fail.

late to the party but tbh you can just youtube this exact cpu cooler comparison and like ten videos pop up instantly with all the benchmarks you need... honestly i spent three whole hours watching those tests last night while eating cold pizza instead of actually doing my laundry. my washing machine has been making this weird clicking noise for a week and i keep ignoring it hoping itll fix itself. anyway...
