What are the best apps for sharing holiday gift registries because Im totally lost on this stuff? sorry if this is a super basic question but my family decided to do a big secret santa and gift exchange thing this year and everyone is telling me to use an app instead of just texting lists back and forth like we usually do. Im in the US and we are trying to get everything set up before Thanksgiving so people have time to shop without stressing out. I downloaded one random app last week but it was so confusing and kept asking me to pay for extra features just to add more than five items which seemed ridiculous. Is there anything free and actually easy to use for older family members who arent very tech savvy? I just want something where everyone can make their own list check things off so people dont buy duplicate gifts and maybe draw names easily. If you guys have any favorites that worked well for your family holidays let me know what I should download

Ugh navigating all these gift apps can honestly be a total nightmare tbh. Some of them lock basic features behind paywalls which is super annoying when you just want a simple wishlist. Before diving headfirst into setting up a massive exchange with older relatives, I would suggest clarifying a couple technical specs to save everyone a massive headache later on.

  • Are your family members going to be using mobile apps exclusively, or will some need to access the registry via desktop web browsers without downloading anything?
  • Does the platform need to integrate with external retailer extension tools, or is manual link-pasting fine for everyone? Making sure those details are locked down first will definitely prevent people from getting confused. I found Share Product Wishlist last year and it actually works with almost any store, which is nice.
