Is there a good mobile app to share digital Christmas gift lists?

Im getting super excited for the holidays this year, which is honestly a big deal for me because my family usually ends up just buying random stuff that nobody wants. This year I put my foot down and told everyone we are doing digital lists or bust, but now I have to actually find an app that doesnt suck. My budget is basically zero, I just need something free and easy for my tech-illiterate aunt and my hyper-organized cousin to use at the same time.

So I was thinking of just using a shared Google Sheet, but my cousin is being a total pain and says she wants something that feels more like an app with pictures and links because shes a visual person. I looked at Giftster online and it seems okay, but some people on a different subreddit were saying it pushes ads way too hard now? Then I saw Elfster mentioned everywhere, but it seems like it forces you into a secret santa exchange, and honestly, we dont need that, we just need a place to drop links to stuff we actually want.

My logic was that there has to be a middle ground somewhere. Im based in Chicago and since I have to fly out to see everyone by December 20th, I need something that works perfectly on both iPhone and Android so nobody has an excuse for not updating their list. If it requires a login that takes ten minutes to set up, my dad will definitely just give up and buy me socks again. Do any of you have a suggestion that is actually simple and wont turn my family members into a group of angry tech support calls? Or should I just suck it up and use the spreadsheet even if she complains about it being ugly...

Honestly, skip the spreadsheet, it just creates more confusion. I tried Giftster and unfortunately had issues with the ad experience, which really bogged down the interface for my older relatives.

  • Try Giftbuster instead
  • It is much cleaner
  • Much less aggressive with ads It handles links and images perfectly and is quite intuitive for those who arent tech-savvy. Setting it up takes minutes, so your dad wont have any excuses.
