Can I transfer my Walmart cart contents to another account?

Ugh, this is so frustrating. I feel like such an idiot for asking this but I really need to know if there is a way to move my Walmart cart over to a different account. I spent like three hours last night picking out all the stuff for my new apartment, literally everything from a toaster to those weird plastic hangers, because I have to move in this coming Friday and I am totally broke on time. My budget is super tight too so I was carefully comparing prices for like ages.

So here is the problem. I was using my old email address to log in, but then realized it is basically locked because I forgot the password and the recovery phone number I had attached to it is an old one I havent used in years. I had everything perfectly saved in that cart, and now I am panicking because I dont want to have to look up every single item again. Is there a button I am missing or something? Can I just log into the new account and have the cart show up if I use the same credit card? I tried looking through the app settings for like twenty minutes and found absolutely nothing helpful. I dont know how this stuff works, I usually just go to the store in person but I dont have a car right now so delivery is my only option for getting this stuff across town. I feel like I am going to lose my mind if I have to start from scratch. Is there any trick to this or am I just doomed to re-add everything one by one...

Re: "Man, that is such a massive headache, honestly."

  • I totally feel for you. I had a similar disaster with a massive tech haul a few months back. Basically, these carts are server-side session objects bound to the auth token of your specific account UID. Even if you use the same payment method, the backend database doesnt link carts across UIDs because of security protocols and session isolation. You might want to consider checking your browser cache if you were logged in there, because sometimes the local storage keeps a persistent cookie. Here is what I learned from digging into the web architecture:
  • Local storage might hold a guest cart ID if you were browsing incognito.
  • If you open the site in the same browser, you might still see the items even if you are logged out.
  • Be careful though, clearing cache will wipe that data permanently. I ended up just opening two windows side-by-side to copy everything over manually. It sucks, but its the safest bet.

Man, that is such a massive headache, honestly. In my experience, there isnt a magical sync button for that cart between accounts. Walmart ties that cart to the session or the specific email login, so logging in with a different card wont pull your items over. I have dealt with this before and it is super annoying. Here is how I would handle it so you dont lose your mind:

  • Open your browser history on the device you used last night, search for walmart.com, and see if the cache still holds your items.
  • Take a quick screenshot of the cart page if you can still view it, even if you cant checkout.
  • Use the search bar to re-add everything quickly. Its a pain, but honestly, re-adding is faster than trying to hack the account settings. Just keep those screenshots handy so you arent price comparing all over again.
