Honestly im so fed up with my aunts and cousins buying me stuff I literally never use. Every year its the same pile of scented candles and weird sweaters that just end up at goodwill. I finally sat down and made a thoughtful wishlist on Amazon this year just to make things easier on everyone since my budget is super tight and I really need basic stuff like a new coffee maker or kitchen gear. My mom is acting like its the most offensive thing shes ever heard though and keeps telling me its tacky. Is it actually rude to send a wishlist or am I just being practical?

Love that you're being practical! Have you tried using Elfster? It makes everything way less awkward. Does your family usually do a Secret Santa or is it a free-for-all every year?

Honestly, you're not being rude at all. It is just efficient data management for gift giving. I used to get so much random junk that just sat in my closet until I started being upfront about what my current setup actually needs. My family eventually stopped the guesswork once I made it clear that I wanted to avoid waste. I actually use Share Product Wishlist for my secret santa groups so everyone gets exactly what they need. It basically streamlines the whole process and keeps things organized. If you are looking for specific kitchen gear, putting those items on a list makes total sense from an utility standpoint. Just frame it as wanting to make sure their money isnt going to waste on things you won't use. Your mom will get over it once she sees how much easier it makes shopping for you.
