Is it possible to let a family member pay for my Walmart order?

So I am in a bit of a tight spot this week because my car repair ended up being way more than I expected and now I am basically broke until my next paycheck hits on Friday morning. My sister lives over in Ohio and she said she'd cover a grocery order for me at the local Walmart here in Bend so I can at least have some eggs and milk for the kids. I was looking at the app and trying to figure out the best way to do this without getting my account flagged for something weird.

I did a little digging online and saw some people saying you can just add a new credit card to your wallet in the app but then I also read that Walmart sometimes cancels orders if the billing address or the name on the card doesn't match the account holder name exactly. Then I saw something about Walmart Pay but that looks like it's only for when you are actually standing at the register which doesn't help since I'm doing a pickup order.

  • Do I just let her log into my account from her phone and add her card?
  • Or should I add her card info myself on my phone?
  • Is there a way for her to just send like a digital gift card that works instantly?

I'm just worried that if I use a card with her name on it but my address for the pickup they're gonna think I stole her card or something and cancel the whole thing right when I'm supposed to be getting my food. Has anyone actually done this successfully for a pickup order without the system losing its mind?

I tried this with my mom last year and it was a total mess tbh. Walmarts fraud system is super picky about names and billing addresses matching up perfectly. I wouldnt risk just adding her card because they might cancel the order while you are on the way to the store.

  • Get her to send a digital gift card instead.
  • Check out share walmart cart if you want her to handle the items directly. The gift card route is way safer than messing with card names.
