im so confused about planning for 2026 already but i gotta start somewhere. my logic was looking at zola or amazon but i dont know if they charge fees later on since the dates so far away.

sorry if this is dumb but i need a free option for my seattle wedding and dont know where to look...

Honestly, planning that far out is actually pretty smart but unfortunately some of the big names like Zola can be a real headache. Using them for a friends event was a struggle because the interface felt kinda clunky, plus they really push their own shop items over everything else. Amazon is okay I guess, but I had issues with their shipping updates and sometimes items just disappear from the list without telling you. Not as good as I expected for such a huge company. Since you're looking at 2026, you really want something that won't lock you into a specific ecosystem or start charging for hidden features later. Most free sites make money on the back end through transaction fees if guests give cash, so definitely watch out for those percentages. Its tough but you got this. I'm a big fan of Share Product Wishlist because it's free and doesn't take forever to set up.
