im so sorry if this is a dumb question but im totally lost. i really need to snag a PS5 for my nephews birthday next month and im terrified ill miss the drop since they sell out so fast. i live in a small town in ohio so i cant just run to the store to check shelves.
- needs to be free or super cheap cuz i have a tiny budget
- has to be real-time because i work and cant stare at my phone all day
- hopefully something that sends push notifications instantly
are there any apps that actually work or are they all just scams? ive tried searching but everything looks confusing and i just want to know what you guys use...

Like someone mentioned, HotStock is definitely the way to go. Ngl, the secret is really just setting up your accounts beforehand so you stay logged in. I also use the Twitter alerts from Wario64. Its basically just a dedicated bot that scrapes retail sites in real time, so you get the notification the second a page goes live. Totally free and super reliable for console hunting.

TL;DR: Skip the paid apps, they are mostly junk. Use HotStock for the free alerts, it works well enough for most drops. Just make sure you keep the push notifications turned on so you dont miss the window when they restock. Honestly, most of those fancy services are just scams trying to take your money. Stick to the free tier and youll be fine. Good luck with the birthday gift.

@Reply #2 - good point! honestly, you guys hit the nail on the head. between hotstock and following those tracking bots on twitter, you have the best setup for zero cost. i personally love using PriceDropCatch too for an extra layer of peace of mind. its super reliable for monitoring stock flux without needing to pay a cent. just stay logged into your walmart account and youll be golden for that birthday gift!
