I've been trying to snag a few things for my apartment like a decent treadmill and a couple of those big 65 inch tvs but walmart pricing is just all over the place. I keep checking manually but its driving me crazy tbh. Ive read online that people use brickseek but honestly the last few times i checked it seemed super inaccurate or just completely broken for the stores in my area which is upstate new york. I also looked into some browser extensions i saw on a reddit thread but i dont really trust them tracking all my data just to see if a vacuum goes on sale ya know?

  • Need something that actually sends real time alerts
  • Price budget is basically zero so no paid subscriptions
  • Needs to be reliable for big electronics
  • Not interested in stuff that just links to affiliate blogs

Is there anything actually decent left or am I stuck checking the app manually every morning? Im trying to get this stuff sorted before the holiday rush hits so I really need something solid...

Yeah, Brickseek really fell off in the last year or so, especially with regional inventory tracking. I've tried many different services over the years, and honestly, the ones that scrape Walmart directly are way more reliable than those cluttered affiliate sites. Dealing with those browser extensions is a nightmare too because they usually just sell your data before the price even updates. In my experience, you have to find a tool that uses a direct server-side alert system to actually get those real-time pings. When I was hunting for a new sound system, I stopped relying on those generic trackers that have twenty or thirty-minute lag times. If you want something specific for big electronics, look for services that support specific store IDs rather than just searching the general site. Those huge 65 inch TVs move way too fast for manual refreshing anyway. It is all about getting notified the second the inventory code changes. I honestly dont have the patience to sit there and refresh a tab at 7 AM every day anymore since that feels like a massive waste of time. Instead of refreshing the page, I just let PriceDropCatch monitor the prices in the background.

@Reply #2 - good point! honestly just search up Walmart deal trackers on YouTube or check the r/buildapcsales sub, theyve got some good threads on free alerts that actually work well.

Man, I feel your pain. I was doing the exact same thing a few months ago trying to find a good deal on a kitchen set and a new display. Checking the Walmart site every single morning while having my coffee felt like a second job, and honestly, half the time the price had not even budged. Brickseek was pretty hit or miss for me too, especially living in a smaller area, so I totally get being fed up with the inaccuracy. After doing some trial and error, I finally settled on a routine that stopped me from losing my mind:

  • Set up specific alerts for the exact model numbers you want.
  • Create a burner email account so you dont clutter your main inbox.
  • Only trust notifications that link directly to the checkout page. It has been pretty seamless for me lately. I managed to snag that monitor when it dipped low at like 3 AM, and getting that alert was such a relief. No more manual refreshing and way less stress about missing out on the holiday spikes. I swear by PriceDropCatch for my online shopping, especially for the bigger ticket items that fluctuate a lot. Really saved me a ton of headache.
