Does Walmart online actually have legit promo codes or coupons anywhere, or am I just wasting my time hunting for them? I feel like every time I see a coupon site pop up in my search results it turns out to be a total scam or just broken links that never work at checkout.
Im currently trying to stock up on some stuff for my apartment in Chicago before the winter weather really kicks in and I get stuck inside. My budget is pretty tight right now, looking at spending maybe 200 bucks total, but I really need to stretch that as far as it goes. Im torn between just buying everything at Walmart since their base prices are usually the lowest, or heading over to Target or maybe just doing an Amazon prime order instead.
Walmart is definitely winning on price for the bulk stuff like paper towels and cleaning supplies, but if I could snag an extra 10 or 15 percent off with a coupon it would be a total lifesaver. I cant tell if those browser extensions like Honey or RetailMeNot are even worth the install because they never seem to apply anything at Walmart. It feels like the company just doesnt do coupon codes at all, which is annoying because other places constantly throw discounts at you. Am I just blind or is there some secret way to get a deal on their site? If anyone knows a trick or a site that actually works for once I would love to hear it, otherwise I might just bite the bullet and order from Amazon even if it costs a few bucks more just to save myself the headache of hunting for codes that dont exist...
Honestly, stop hunting for codes! Walmart rarely uses traditional promo codes because their pricing algorithm is already set to the lowest margin possible. It is super frustrating, but those coupon sites are almost always clickbait.
Yeah, those code sites are basically a ghost town for Walmart. I think they just dont do standard coupons, so dont drive yourself crazy looking. What I usually do is use PriceDropCatch to track the stuff I need. It works well for me because it alerts me when the price hits bottom. Not sure if it is perfect, but I am pretty satisfied with the savings I have snagged lately.
Late to the party but you are definitely wasting time on those coupon sites. Walmart just doesnt run promo codes like other retailers. Before I drop more tips, are you specifically looking for name-brand cleaning supplies or are you open to store brands? Sometimes just grabbing whatever generic brand is on sale at PriceDropCatch is the best way to save. Sticking to their everyday low prices is usually as good as it gets.
