Im trying to track a 55 inch Vizio for my dorm. Some people online say adding it to a favorites list triggers an alert but others say that only works for clearance stuff.

Ive had it saved for a week and nothing. Does the Walmart app actually send notifications when prices drop?

Unfortunately, I have had quite a few issues with the Walmart app price tracking. It is honestly not as reliable as you would expect for a major retailer. In my experience, notifications are very inconsistent. They usually arrive way too late. I dont trust it to catch a deal on that Vizio. I have compared a few tracking methods and here is what I found:

  • Walmart App: Very disappointing. It misses most price drops unless they are major clearance events.
  • Honey: Much more reliable for historical data. It shows you if a price is actually at its lowest point.
  • Capital One Shopping: Offers more consistent alerts than the native app, though the interface is a bit cluttered. Basically, the app is just not as good as expected tho. I would suggest checking the site manually or using a third-party tool. Relying on the app alone is risky.

@Reply #1 - good point! while it's definitely glitchy, it might actually work if you tweak things. Be careful though, it mostly pings for clearance stuff rather than standard drops. I would suggest trying this stuff:

  • Check the notification bell in your profile, it resets sometimes.
  • Use BrickSeek for real-time local prices since the app lags.
  • Manually refresh your cart daily... the price often changes there first.
